Abstract
This article examines the concepts of media and information literacy (MIL) in today’s era of globalization, based on UNESCO’s MIL framework. The research focuses on the analysis of media and information literacy criteria through news information programs broadcast on Karakalpakstan television. Particular attention is given to the reliability and neutrality of information, the distinction between fact and opinion, linguistic culture, orthographic accuracy, and clarity of journalistic speech. Based on the analysis, existing problems in television news are identified, and recommendations for improvement are proposed.
