Abstract

The article explores the transformation of the journalism profession in the context of rapid digital development and the rise of the multimedia environment. It examines changes in the nature of journalistic work, the increasing demand for cross-functional skills, and the influence of the "explosion of authorship" and competition from non-professional content creators online. Special attention is given to new formats of media delivery, the role of streaming media, and the shifting perception of journalism as both a profession and a calling. The article highlights key social, ethical, and technical challenges journalists face in the 21st century.
