Abstract
This article is dedicated to the analysis of ethical and regulatory frameworks governing journalists’ activities in the field of investigative journalism. It examines both international and national codes — including the Declaration of Principles on the Conduct of Journalists by the International Federation of Journalists, the SPJ Code of Ethics, the German Press Code, as well as legislative and professional norms in force in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Special attention is given to universal principles such as respect for the truth, protection of confidentiality, objectivity, and social responsibility. The article highlights the role of ethics as a key instrument in building public trust and ensuring a balance between individual rights and the interests of society
